Starting Your Own Blog

Some people have been asking me about starting a blog. I started mine in June, and I think it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done for myself. It’s a great outlet for me, very cathartic. Not sure if anyone has noticed, but I’ve taken all ads down for a while because I just want to concentrate on content. Yes, you can make money with a blog. There are several different ways to do this, but in order to monetize a blog you need to be self-hosted. The free blog sites are not self- hosted. You don’t own your platform and this limits you. I didn’t want to pay for self-hosted, but I knew it was the best decision and I got a good deal on it. This weekend Bluehost (who I’m with) is offering a deal of $2.65 per month, which is great (less than what I paid).I’m not sure how much that comes to per year, but you have to pay annually.
