Feet Loaf
Ready for some spooky fun? We got this idea from a spooky meat loaf that our friend Ron made a while back. Everybody makes meat loaf differently, so the recipe can be adjusted in any way that you see fit. The recipe listed is a simple one from our family. The featured picture is Ron’s masterpiece and he used cashews on the toes, a leek for the leg bone, and tomato sauce for the “bloody foot” effect. Hopefully your family won’t be too scared to enjoy the meal!

Take Pictures With Your Heart
Last weekend I took a road trip with two of my best friends, David and Brenda. I plan to write more about this trip in a later post, but for now I would just like to touch on a few words that stuck in my …
Lorna’s Story: Ovarian Cancer Sucks!
I am the youngest of four children. Jan is 14 years older than me, Jon is 12 years older than me, and Lorna was the closest to me in age at 8 years older. Jan and Jon both moved out when I was young, but this is the story of Lorna. The focus of this post will be Lorna and memories that I shared with her, but I know that my family members have many more memories of good times with her. I’d like to encourage anyone that knew Lorna to share some of those memories in the comments, as she touched so many people.
Toilet Paper Belongs On The Roller, and Many Other Pet Peeves!
A few weeks ago, I had a crappy day. Everything was going wrong, somebody took one of my blog posts and used it as their own (changed it up a tiny bit, but still almost exactly the same), and I was in a negative mood. …
Shortcut Strawberry Poke Cake
So, sometimes I am lazy. I like to take shortcuts, anything that will make my day to day life a bit easier. If I had all of the time in the world with no other responsibilities, I would prepare everything from scratch. If I …
Under the Autumn Trees
My inspiration for the following came from this post on a wonderful blog that I enjoy reading on a regular basis: https://ginlemonade.com/2018/09/02/if-we-were-having-coffee-writing/ In this post, Lorna gave her readers a blogging prompt/challenge to write a sepia-toned fall memory. Not only is she a gifted writer, but Lorna is very helpful to other bloggers as well. I have learned so much about blogging from her, more than she will ever realize. She also has the same name as my sweet late sister Lorna, which I believe may just be a touch of fate. I have many fall memories, as this is my favorite season, but when reading the prompt my mind immediately traveled back to 1992 and my fall afternoon under the trees….
Upside-Down Bacon Pancake
Today’s featured recipe was sent in by Neita Rader. Neita originally found this recipe in a Taste of Home magazine, and has adapted it to make it her own. This Upside-Down Bacon Pancake is, according to Neita, a fantastic “flip-flopped breakfast” that she has prepared several …
